If you've always wanted to create a resort-style experience in your backyard, a swimming pool is a must-have. Nothing beats slipping into your own pool to cool off on a hot summer afternoon or to unwind after a long day.

Given these perks and a lot more about having a private pool, many people tend to hire builders, landscapers, and a plumber who can all work together to deliver a pool just like how they want.

Well, in case you are interested in getting a swimming pool in your backyard too, then this article is just for you. This can provide you with an idea about the kinds of workers you would need in order to get the job done efficiently. On that note, here is the list of five pool contractors:

Designers

The path to a new pool begins with a design, so first, meet with a pool designer to discuss your vision for your pool.

This part of the pool-building process entails creating blueprints, selecting materials, and determining other factors that will affect the cost of your backyard project. The architect and pool contractor can assist you and provide time estimates for this phase.

Excavators

The second stage entails excavating a portion or all of your yard to make room for the swimming pool. This can take several weeks, depending on the amount of excavation required and the type of ground you have, soft soil vs. hard rock.

Backfilling creates a stable base around the excavated site, preventing water from flowing toward people's homes or buildings during heavy rains. Following backfilling, drainage channels should be graded to lead away from any low spots where water may collect.

Plumbing and Electric Contractors

Now, it's time to lay the steel, route the electrical and plumbing, and ensure that the pool's underworkings are set up for maximum reliability. Depending on the size of the pool, this could take several weeks to complete.

Underground power lines, gas mains, and water pipes are all required for your inground pool. After the excavation is completed, plumbing and electrical contractors will be able to connect the utilities.

Installation Professionals

It's finally time to put the pool part of the swimming pool together, which can take one to three weeks, depending on the type of structure you're building. Because the manufactured pool liner is shipped and installed directly, vinyl and fiberglass pools are faster.

Gunite or sprayed concrete pool will take a little longer because a pool builder crew must be scheduled, the crew needs time to plaster, and the gunite can take up to a week to cure.

Landscapers

After completing the in-ground pool base, you may want to consider adding landscaping features, water features, or custom lighting solutions. The process usually takes one to two weeks, but it can take longer depending on how many features you want to add.

The final stage entails installing pool equipment as well as any final landscaping and finishing touches. On a hot summer day, the finishing touches usually include yard space for a patio area around the pool with some chairs for lounging near the water. This could take anywhere from one to four weeks.
